Virtual Residency

Our virtual residency offers creatives a 3-month supported opportunity to work on a specific project (or part of a larger project) that requires time and support to achieve, in a predominantly virtual mode, assisting them to make significant progress in their own environments, whilst benefitting from connection to the creative community.

How does the digital Creative Residency at Emporium Creative Hub work?

Our creative virtual resident, while predominantly working in their home/external studio/workspace, has the opportunity to book Emporium Creative Hub desk space facilities such as desk-space, studio, meeting rooms and other facilities all free. The resident will also undertake a 3 month mentor program with one of our exceptional group of mentors.

Virtual residents will have the opportunity to connect to the larger Emporium Creative community and other digital and in-person residents through a range of online and in-person activities, to share their progress, process, challenges and wins and foster a community approach.  Virtual residents also have the opportunity to participate in online virtual co-working sessions.

In exchange for this dedicated space and support, the creative’s work (in progress and/or as completed work) will be shared on our website and social media via progress posts and blog interviews, and we would ask that you make a presentation to our creative community during or at the completion of your residency.

Who should apply?

The digital residency seeks to give those working in their home studios some structured support through mentoring, plus access to studio/desk space or meeting rooms to undertake the more administrative sides of their practice.  The residency offers accountability and commitment to undertake a specific and achievable project within a 3 month period.

The range of artistic practices and works we’ll consider is broad and diverse.
